Later, I found the turkey wishbone in what was left. Tim grabbed onto one arm of the small bone, I hung onto the other. We both closed our eyes to make our wishes, and Tim pulled. He pulled hard. We both looked at the pieces left in our hands, and both were of equal length! The top had broken off both halves and went flying (I found the tip today, which reminded me to write about it) somewhere. Both of us, eyes wide, looked at each other and said, "Uh oh!"
I wonder what it means? Do you know?
Holly crap!!!!! We just had the same thing happen to us!!!!!! Today is Nov. 18, 2008. We both looked at each other and said (&^%$#@!**&%^$$. now we are looking to see what if anything does this mean. Please let me know.
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriend and I had the same thing happen to us!! We let the bone dry for 1 day and pulled it today. (11-29-08) To our dismay the wishbone broke into 3 pieces. She and I were left with completely equal halves while the top portion went flying. We looked at each other, eyes wide, and said, "what the hell does this mean?" After some investigation I've concluded that equal halves means both receive wishes. In the lore of the wishbone pull, the person receiving the longer of the halves is granted the wish. It follows a strange sort of logic that if it breaks the wish is granted. If it does NOT break no wish is granted. (Which has happened to me in the past, because I was too impatient to let it dry properly) So in conclusion the top portion is only relevant in deciding length and not whether or not any wish will be granted.
ReplyDeleteSo another question is that what would happen if the wish bone split directly in half??? That happened to my friend. She had a wish bone she had been saving and the darn thing split in two. And do you have to use the wishbone immediatly or can you use it later for a special time.
ReplyDeleteholy ^%$# the same thing happened teh me just now!!!!! lol i guess none of us know..
ReplyDeletenov 29 2009 at 630pm the same to us. i am hoping we both get our wish!
ReplyDeletedecember 3rd 2010 me and my wife did a three peice break on our wishbone and said at the sametime what does that mean? we are puzzled i guess we both get our wishes.
ReplyDeleteMust be something going on. The same thing happened to my son and I a few days ago. We both looked at each other and wondered what it meant. My son says maybe it means we are both going to get our wishes and to leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteMy fiancee and I just had the same thing happen to us...
ReplyDeleteThe strange thing is, come to find out, we both wished for the same thing (not something silly and obvious)...
Weird right?
My ex and I did the same thing on the 29th of December 2009. Broken two equal pieces and the tip flew.
ReplyDeleteSame thing just happend to my partner and I. We were both wishing for a baby boy, not knowing of course what each other had wished for at the time. We find out on the 29th of Jan what we are having and are a little nervous now!!!!
ReplyDeletemy mother and i had the same thing happen to us today 2/19/10 it is her bday. Anyway we wished not for the same thing but on the same subject. i wished my baby would be born today, and she wished that my baby would be born healthy! so i kinda wonder if that confused to wishbone and its like "WHAT!?" lol my mom got the bigger end so i guess im not having a baby today, but im happy to have a healthy baby!!
ReplyDeleteNO Way!!! Happened to me and my GF today Asswell!!... we were astonished!!
ReplyDeletewe did that too! it means that a goblin is slowly taking over your sock drawer. yep.
ReplyDeleteHappened to my daughter and her best friend just a half hour ago... What does it mean???? I can't find info anywhere... and we haven't been able to find the top of the wish-bone yet!
ReplyDeleteJust happened to me too! HAHAHAH!
ReplyDeleteIn the case of that rare and strange event, you would both get your wish.
ReplyDeleteJust happened to my dad and I (Sept 17 2011 at 6:45 pm) Seriously... what does it mean? aha
ReplyDeleteWell just happened to my kids third piece hit me in the face. Wouldnt mind knowing what that means
ReplyDelete11/20/11
Just happened to me and my co-worker!!! OMG!!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, So my wife and I are trying to teach our identical twin girls the tradition of the wishbone.... making sure to tell them to wish for something and whomever gets the bigger half gets their wish. Wouldn't you know it, the damned thing broke right down the middle...kinda weird! And most of all..... kinda hard to explain to 4 year olds!
ReplyDeleteJust happened to my girl friend and I. three equal pieces my question is not about the wish, but how can this happen? As soon as there is a crack the break should happen at the weakest point.
ReplyDeleteIt just happened to my mom and I. The tip went flying across the room and she got the longest half. I hope her wish comes true, whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to me today that Is so woerd
