When my son was born in 1985, there was no such thing as a digital camera. But, I took roll after roll of photos of him, even caught his very first step. Once he turned 3, it seemed like the photos weren't as vibrant, and I lost interest. How vibrant a photo looks is how alive it appears, to me. When Nikon came out with a Coolpix 800 digital, I jumped on it, and it set me back close to $800 at the time. I went nuts with it, taking photos of everything. My son was much older by then, in his teens, and he refused to let me take his photo! I caught him a few times, but I can count how many times on one hand. He's still the same way now that I have this Canon PowerShot S5 IS, and I have to work hard to sneak a few. And I did. So, here is a collection of "family" photos....including a few of my son.
There's two dogs missing from the photos and a few cats! It was miserably hot and humid, so not many came out to play. I'll get photos of them the next time around.
I loved the photos. I am so horrible with a camera and I'm never in the right place to get a good shot. I love the digital, how in the world did we get by with our old cameras? Don't you just love all the new technology?
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this camera! Take photos, Jude. Take lots of them. You'd be surprised how many I took just to get these few OK ones. It doesn't matter with gigabites worth of space on the little card.
ReplyDeleteWith the old film camera, I was really, really conservative and careful, and the shots looked like it too. Now, I have a LOT more fun!
Oh, and you can tell by the blowouts that my camera was semi set to take the shade shots when I had to quick move it up to capture my son. But, I think they're pretty cool anyway.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's like I could reach out and touch that horse!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful family! My son, unlike yours, is a regular ham, but hadn't smiled in a picture in years. He lives in another state now, but posts pictures of himself on his Myspace, which I download, and of course, couldn't help but make a post of a few, myself. Guess what! He is smiling in many of them. Appears he is happy there, which thrills me to no end!
ReplyDelete~Best Wishes~
@Pam, I should've taken a photo of my hand after I touched Odin. It was black! He was sweating like crazy just standing around, and all that wet caught a lot of dust from our dirt road. YUCK!
ReplyDelete@Searchingwithin, you should've left some links to your son's photos! I'd like to see them! I think my son smiles for other people's cameras, just not mine. :-(
I loved the photo's. I would not reckonize Tim if he were standing in front of me! He's a man now, wow. Tell him to smile once in a while life really isn't that bad. He reminds me an actor that I can not think of his name right now, I'll have to write back...
